Nosferatu gets dressed in gold

Vampire-themed shooter set to suck gamers' blood--and time--by Halloween.

Comments

iGames is into the Halloween spirit early this year. The publisher says it worked round the clock to make sure Nosferatu: The Wrath of Malachi went gold by October 31. Now that they've pulled it off--the game went to production today--iGames is banking that PC gamers will prefer to chase vampires on their computers rather than go trick-or-treating.

Developed by Idol FX, Nosferatu is a first-person shooter with an emphasis on spooky lighting and heavy bloodletting.

The game has drawn praise from GameSpot editors for its unique "architectural generator" engine, which creates an original floor plan for the titular vampire's castle for each new game, and its horror-movie-music cues, which kick in whenever a monster rears its ugly head.

Nosferatu: The Wrath of Malachi is set to sink its fangs into stores on October 15, with an MSRP of $29.99.
