Minecraft has spread to a host of platforms, including PC, Mac, Android, and iOS devices, but the title won't arrive on the PlayStation Vita.

Mojang business developer Daniel Kaplan confirmed (via Eurogamer) that the studio has "no plans" to bring Minecraft to Sony's new portable device, which is due out in North America and Europe next week.

This news comes despite Minecraft: Pocket Edition's debut for Sony's Xperia Play and its popularity on mobile devices in general. Mojang revealed last month that Minecraft: Pocket Edition had sold more than 700,000 units across iOS and Android devices, with some 5,000 new purchases recorded every day.

Though Minecraft won't be released for the PS Vita, it is possible that the studio's next game--Scrolls--could be. Kaplan said the new title is "definitely coming for touch screens," but stopped short of confirming it for the PS Vita. That game is currently embroiled in a legal tussle with Bethesda, which claims "Scrolls" is an infringement on Bethesda's The Elder Scrolls games.
