Nintendo Offers Shaquille O’Neal, Christina Aguilera, and Other Celebrity Miis for Tomodachi Life

Finally, Christina Aguilera and Shaquille O’Neal can get married.

As our review of Tomodachi Life pointed out, a big part of the game’s appeal is to populate your virtual island with Miis inspired by your real-life friends and family. But what if you want to add some star power to your game? Rather than create your own or importing them from other players, Nintendo is now offering Miis of Christina Aguilera, Shaquille O’Neal, Debby Ryan, Shaun White, and Zendaya.

To add these Miis to your game, simply go to Tomodachi Life’s official site and click on one of the celebrity Miis to pull up their QR code. In the game, visit the Town Hall and choose “QR Code,” then “Scan QR Code,” and follow the instructions to import that Mii.

Tomodachi Life was first released in Japan in April 2013, where it went on to sell 1.85 million copies. The game was released in North America and Europe on June 6, and earned a good review from GameSpot.

I'm holding out for Steve Guttenberg, Scott Baio, and Alicia Silverstone.

By "celebrity" you mean "Washed up has-been", right?

Wow, that line up only serves to put me off playing that! Unless you get to torture them as well, by making Christina listen to her own trashy "Songs," and then force Shaq to watch himself "Acting" on television.

Soon after, they would be begging me to end their lives... and I'll reply..."NO!"

this is (a start at) what i have been saying they should do with 'the sims' franchise for a long time, make official sims of celebrities.

considering if you look at the sims people make and share 90% of them are either celebrities themselves or characters from shows / movies or comics.

I doubt Christina would touch that...

Now they need to do something about how impossibly hard it is to get streetpasses for such a niche game in North America! :P

Neil Patrick Harris, Ian McKellan, George Takei, or Ellen DeGeneres are unsurprisingly absent from the celebrity lineup, they don't fit into Nintendo's quote "playful alternate world". Maybe in the sequel Gandalf, maybe in the sequel.

@KiriharaZro People like to complain that Nintendo is for kids and Rehash and blah, blah... But Nintendo keeps their fans happy!

@catsimboy Don't try to turn this into something it isn't. You social justice warriors make our job hard enough already. Seriously, being a part of LGBT, I know I didn't sign up for dealing with that hot mess.

@catsimboy That's because those people are all disgusting freaks, aberrant as it were.

@ValedictorianXD @catsimboy Thank you for supporting yourself while not being a ------- about it. That's the kind of person I would happily support.
