Nintendo Assumes Sales Stranglehold

Pokémon Silver and Pokémon Gold continued to hold the top two spots, respectively, on the PC Data consoles sales charts for the week of October 29 to November 4. In fact, according to NPD TRST data, the two Game Boy Color games have combined to sell just over 2.9 million copies in their first few weeks of availability. Nintendo's latest Zelda game, Majora's Mask, took the third slot in total console games sales, giving the company a firm stranglehold on the top three positions on the PC Data chart. The Visual Concepts-developed NBA 2K1 was the top-selling Dreamcast game for the week, while Madden NFL 2001 was the best-selling game for the recently released PlayStation 2.
