NFL players are coming to popular endless runner mobile game Temple Run 2, it was announced today. Developer Imangi Studios and the NFL Players Inc. have announced a partnership that brings NFL players, beginning with quarterbacks Colin Kaepernick (San Francisco 49ers) and Russell Wilson (Seattle Seahawks), to the game.

Kaepernick and Wilson characters are available to download now in Temple Run 2 for $1 each, and will be offered for sale only for a limited time. However, once you download a character, it's yours to keep.

New players will be chosen on a weekly basis throughout the NFL season, though none were named today. It is also unclear if only historically nimble players will be chosen. Kaepernick and Wilson, both considered to be mobile QBs, certainly fit that bill. But the same can't be said for all NFL players.

NFL Players Inc. vice president Steve Scelebo said in a statement that Kaepernick and Wilson were happy to lend their likenesses to Temple Run 2. He went on to say that other NFL players are already "jockeying for position" to be chosen by Imangi as the next players to be added to the Temple Run universe.

Last year, Jamaican superstar sprinter Usain Bolt was added to Temple Run as a playable character. The Temple Run franchise has seen over 1 billion downloads to date.
