Retro maps, game mode infiltrate GRAW2 on X360
In May, Ubisoft released the Throwback Pack for its modern-day tactical shooter Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter 2 for 800 Microsoft points ($10). Apparently unsatisfied with the outcome, the France-based publisher has released the Throwback Pack 2 as a free download and also made the first Throwback Pack free. Throwback Pack 2 contains a new cooperative game mode called co-op exfiltration, in which players must escort two friendlies to an extraction point while protecting them from enemy combatants. The download also contains seven redux maps pulled from past Ghost Recon games.

Bomberman Live stockpiles new maps and modes
Hudson Entertainment announced today that Bomberman Live for the Xbox 360 would be receiving its first downloadable add-on. Bomb-Up Pack 1 features 10 new characters, two new levels, one new game mode, and two new leaderboards. The first new map, titled High Stakes, has players dropping bombs in a casino, while the Zeppelin map takes place on its namesake and incorporates tornado hazards to immobilize players. Frag, the new game mode, lets players preset the number of enemies that must be bombed to win, and the new leaderboards track weekly and all-time statistics for the new Zeppelin map. Bomb-Up Pack 1 will be available August 29 for 250 Microsoft points ($3.13).

Tiger Woods 08 demo exits pro shop
With Tiger Woods PGA Tour 08 taxiing out to its tee time this week, Electronic Arts has given Xbox 360 owners a chance to hit the driving range with a demo, which is now available on Xbox Live. Occupying 733MBs of space, the demo focuses on the online-oriented GamerNet, where players can record their game and then upload particularly remarkable feats for others to view and/or outdo. Tiger Woods 08 updates its annual formula with several other new features, including the ability to scan in real-life photographs to create in-game characters, as well as the confidence meter, which tracks your performance on every hole.

At this year's Penny Arcade Expo, Hothead Games gave the media its first look at Penny Arcade Adventures: On the Rain-Slick Precipice of Darkness, an adventure role-playing game starring the antiheroes of the Penny Arcade webcomic. Complementing these details, Hothead has launched the official site for Penny Arcade Adventures, where interested players can find the latest updates on the game.
