New Xbox One TV Spot Touts $299 Price Point, Backwards Compatibility

New "Did you know?" campaign airing on TV now.

Microsoft has launched a new Xbox One TV ad campaign that, among other things, touts the console's $300 price point and Remedy's soon-to-launch action game Quantum Break.

The video is titled "Did you know?" It also boasts that the Xbox One is the only console that has every one of 2015's top 10 best-selling games and backwards compatibility support. Check it out:

The Xbox One got a $50 price cut for all systems earlier this month as part of promotion that was deemed to be temporary. This video also explains that it's a temporary price cut, but given the new ad campaign just started, it seems like the price drop may remain valid for some time to come.

Microsoft has not yet said when Xbox One will return to its normal price of $350. By comparison, Sony's PlayStation 4, the best-selling new-generation system today with nearly 36 million consoles sold, starts at $350. In terms of price and backwards compatibility, Microsoft has the edge.

It's also worth noting that the PS4 also has all of 2015's top 10 best-selling physical games, just not backwards compatibility, unless you count PlayStation Now.

Quantum Break launches on April 5 for Xbox One and PC. Microsoft is throwing launch parties for the game across the United States next week; a rundown of events can be seen here.
