Justice League director Zack Snyder has shared a new photo of Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman in his upcoming movie. The shot is a fiery one, with flames burning behind the Amazonion warrior.

2016 marks the 75th anniversary of the Wonder Woman character. Gadot and Lynda Carter, who played the character in the '70s TV series, appeared at the United Nations on Friday where Wonder Woman was named honorary ambassador for the empowerment of women and girls.

"In some magical and mystical way, there lies within each of us Wonder Woman," Carter told an audience, according to Entertainment Weekly. "She is real. She lives and she breathes. I know this because she lives in me, and she lives in the stories that these women tell me, day in and day out. I see it in the letters and in the stories. I read it on social media. I see it in the tears that fall from the eyes of the women who say it saved them from some awful thing that they endured--because they saw that they could do something great."

The USPS is releasing Wonder Woman stamps this year to celebrate the character's 75th anniversary. Wonder Woman made her debut in October 1941 in the All Star Comics #8 issue, though she was not the focus of it.

Snyder's Justice League also stars Ben Affleck as Batman, Jason Momoa as Aquaman, and J.K. Simmons as Commissioner Gordon. It opens in November 2017. Gadot will be seen next as Wonder Woman in the standalone Wonder Woman movie, which opens in June 2017.
