Social networking site Twitter released a new app for Xbox One (and Apple TV and Amazon Fire TV) today that not only lets you stay in touch with your contacts but also livestream some sporting events.

As announced previously, Twitter will livestream 10 NFL Thursday Night Football games this year, and you can watch all of them using the app. There will also be video content from other professional sports leagues like the MLB and NBA, as well as college networks like Pac-12 and Campus Insiders. Additionally, video content from Bloomberg News and news network Cheddar will be available.

Best of all, you can watch all of this content without a pay TV subscription.

"These devices will bring Twitter's livestreaming video experience to life on the TV screen," Twitter CFO Anthony Noto said in a statement. "Twitter has always been a great complement to TV, and now fans can enjoy even more premium video with live tweets--and the best content on Twitter--right from their TVs. We're excited to introduce this new experience to people, without requiring a paywall or having to log in to Twitter."

The first Thursday Night Football game to be livestreamed on Twitter is tomorrow night's matchup between the Buffalo Bills and New York Jets.

Another thing to note is that, on Apple TV, users can watch the live video content and other video clips shared on Twitter simultaneously via a "seamless side-by-side video experience." This feature is exclusive to Apple TV.

The new Twitter app has not been announced for PlayStation 4.
