The roster for this year's Super Smash Bros. game for 3DS and Wii U is not complete just yet. Nintendo announced today on the game's website that it will reveal a new character for the game on Monday, July 14.

Super Smash Bros. director Masahiro Sakurai explained on Miiverse that instead of revealing the new character through something like Nintendo Direct (which are often pre-recorded), Nintendo will live-stream the unveiling. It will take place Monday, July 14, at 7 a.m. PDT.

"Looks like we're nearing the bottom of the stash of new challenger videos that we've made," Sakurai wrote. "Like always, we put a lot of effort into it, so I hope you'll enjoy watching it live."

It is unclear if by "new" Nintendo means a character who appeared in a past Smash Bros. game but is only going to be confirmed for the new title, or if "new" means a character who is making an appearance for the first time in the series. We'll find out on Monday.

The current roster for the new Super Smash Bros. game for Wii U and 3DS is listed below, with characters new to the series in bold.
