New Star Wars Episode 7 Footage Shows Finn Wielding His Lightsaber

Lucasfilm has shared a new video clip for Star Wars: Episode VII - The Force Awakens. It's short but sweet, providing a first look at an intense-looking Finn wielding his blue lightsaber as he prepares to square off against the the movie's main antagonist, Kylo Ren.

The video, which comes by way of the Star Wars Instagram account, opens with the same wide-angle vista shot, featuring a vast Imperial army stretching far into the distance, as seen in the international trailer. In addition, we see Rey and the BB-8 droid staring ominously at something in the sky. There is also the familiar voiceover that says, "There has been an awakening."

Instagram user leovilela288 sums up their thoughts about the video by saying, "Damn son."

Agreed.

The Force Awakens opens in theaters on December 18. Its release will be preceded by tie-in DLC for DICE's Star Wars Battlefront called The Battle of Jakku, which we learned more about today.
