TOKYO--A new Shining Force game is going into the project stage, according to the diary of Tadashi Takezaki of Sega public relations. The game will be the fourth in the slew of recent Shining Force releases, following today’s release of Shining Force: Resurrection of the Dark Dragon on the Game Boy Advance and the upcoming Shining Force for the PlayStation 2. Takezaki's note did not mention for which platform the game would be available.

"Today is the release date of Shining Force: Resurrection of the Dark Dragon for the GBA [in Japan]. The new history of the Shining Force series is going to start today," comments Takezaki in the Web diary located on Sega’s official site. "We've started a project for the next-next-next title (fourth release). I'll work hard as the head in charge of overseeing the [Shining Force] series and make sure the series is released consistently, so that fans can enjoy it for a long time."

Considering that very few details have been disclosed on Shining Force for the PlayStation 2, scheduled for release next year, it will probably be a while before more is disclosed on this game. GameSpot will provide more information as it becomes available.
