Playnet and Cornered Rat Software have released a new group of screenshots from their upcoming online action game, World War II Online: Blitzkrieg. The new screens show some of the different weapons that are featured in the game, as well as several characters and a view of a tank.

World War II Online lets players assume the role of an individual soldier in one of the largest wars in history. Starting out with a new character, players must undertake various missions designed by higher-ranking members within the game. The more missions players successfully complete, the more points they gain and the greater opportunity they have to earn a promotion. At some points in the game, players can also control different types of vehicles, ranging from tanks to planes, all of which feature realistic physics.

To learn more about the game, take a look at our hands-on impressions from E3 . World War II Online is scheduled for release in early June.
