New Open Kart Screens

Microids releases new shots of its upcoming kart driving game.

Comments

Microids sent over new shots from its new driving game, Open Kart, which uses NDL's NetImmerse 3D engine. The game features 10 tracks from popular go-kart racing areas, and each has been modeled closely after it real-life counterpart with accurate track width, distance, and turn angles. However, to add a little more visual variety to the game, Microids plans to place the tracks in distinct areas such as mountains, deserts, and towns. Open Kart also features three different gameplay modes--arcade, simulation, and career. The arcade mode does away with some of the more realistic conventions of kart racing, while the simulation mode adds sand traps and other obstacles that can knock players out of the race. In the career mode, players can customize their vehicles and compete in different events to become world champion.

Open Kart is due out this May.
