New Need for Speed movie trailer

DreamWorks releases new extended trailer for upcoming film based on EA's racing series.

by

DreamWorks and Electronic Arts today released a new extended trailer for the upcoming Need for Speed movie starring Breaking Bad's Aaron Paul.

The 2:30 trailer (below) introduces viewers to the revenge-themed plot, as well as the band of characters Paul will associate with during the film, including Michael Keaton (Batman, Mr. Mom).

The film's story follows street racer Tobey (Paul) framed for a crime he did not commit. After leaving prison he embarks on a mission to settle the score with the man who set him up.

The Need for Speed movie will be released in theaters on March 14, 2014. It was directed by Scott Waugh (Act of Valor, various stunt credits). The latest Need for Speed game is Need for Speed: Rivals, which is available today on PlayStation 4.

The game, the first project from Ghost Games, will be released on Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PC tomorrow, with an Xbox One version to follow at launch on November 22.

Why Aaron Paul? Why? Leave this stuff to Paul Walker. This got me thinking is there any new news on the MGS movie?

I haven't looked at the competition for it, because March 2014 still feels like a long way to go. I'm not expecting it be either Breaking Bad quality or just bad quality, I only wonder if this will succeed in Breaking Even.

I hope Aaron Paul saves this, because this has awful written all over it.

PS :EA stop making BS need for speed games like rivals (aka shitvals) , need for speed world?really? . Make a decent NFS game like I don't know....Underground 3? mods, tunning, mmo?

The only way I would watch this movie is if Aaron Paul says his favorite word.

Shows way too much. Granted, this movie will be mindless, but still. I definitely didn't like them showing the helicopter stunt at the end there. Spoiled it :/

Gonna rent this for Keaton only. I have the urge to watch Beetlejuice now.

NFS Movie. WTF?

I'm so confused about what to feel right now.

It's decent. The Fast & The Furious has a smash-up of ideas of characters and story. This movie is purely high powered vehicles. Look at that Bugutti go!!! Correct me if I'm wrong! It's the first time I've actually seen a Bugutti in a movie trailer!

This actually picks up right after the season finale of Breaking Bad when Jesse Pinkman drives off emotionally charged. Driving through the lonely stretches of highway, Jesse comes to the realization that he has a need. A need for speed.

I feel the need...

... the need for Fast & Furious.

PS - Who's the nobody in the lead role, and who stole his charisma?

Just when I thought the title Need For Speed couldn't get any worse, it just did!

Men die all the time in films and media. It's always men going into battle and men are most goons and henchmen who get slaughtered by the "good guy(s)," so I don't know what you're talking about there. Women and children get kidnapped cause their turmoil instills more sympathy in humans. Men through history have been more expendable - women and children first - and they're not as necessary to maintain a tribe or family. Men are also much more often physically stronger than children and women, so men simply aren't as easy to feel worried about. Movies, and all forms of media really, focus on triggering emotional reactions in humans. Movies aren't about equality, they use social and evolutionary cues to entertain and engross the viewer.

for god sake the game revolves around a shit load of particles flying at the screen to create a sense of speed, it has no story !!!! why force a story on something like need for speed, nobody CARES.

It looks way too serious for what it is, or at least the trailers make it look that way.

Sigh. The worse thing is this will probably make a lot of money just due to Aaron Paul alone and we will be stuck with sequels.

@Pavel Tykva Yeah, they better not be faffing around or this will burn through their revenue like a Diesel fueled fire.

@Master_Turismo I know a lot of people will act like the meaning of his favorite word if he doesn't say it.

@CptYoutube Perhaps that's just the American way of marketing these movies. It reminds me of a Simpson clip where Homer watches a trailer for an action movie and afterwards the clerk asks if he wants to rent it. Homer says "Why, I've just seen the best part". That's my reaction as well, when a movie shows too much.

@soulless4nowYeah, I've never seen or even heard about Mr Mom before Eddie Makuch brought it up and he keeps on writing (Batman, Mr Mom) for every article about this movie that mentions Keaton. Is Mr Mom really that famous, is it a movie that makes people think "Oh, that's the one with Michael Keaton"? When I think about Michael Keaton, it's Batman, Beetlejuice and Multiplicity. I also liked him in Jackie Brown.

@MarcJL31 Yes, you will be forced to watch any sequels they make. Oh the suffering!

MarcJL31

@ElFlechero Yea, I just have to man. Thanks for the sympathy. For you to pick me  to comment on really feels special right now. Makes my heart warm. Today is going to be a good day now.

Next time, at least leave something (reaction/review/ect) that has to do with the article or topic. Otherwise you just come off bitter. But thanks for your solid contribution to my comment.
