Sega has released several new screenshots from Sonic the Hedgehog Advance for the Game Boy Advance. These new shots show Tails, Knuckles, and Amy in action for the first time. The first Sonic game for the GBA follows a plot that will be familiar to anyone who has played the previous installments in the series. Players must collect chaos emeralds and foil the plans of the vile Dr. Robotnik once again. When Sonic collects all the chaos emeralds, he can then use them to transform into another form for his final showdown with Robotnik.

In addition to the primary single-player quest, Sonic the Hedgehog Advance will also include several multiplayer modes. The announced multiplayer modes include chaos emerald hunt and a battle mode. No word has been given regarding how many cartridges will be needed for each multiplayer mode. Sonic the Hedgehog Advance is currently scheduled for release in November. We'll have more information when it becomes available.
