TalonSoft sent us two new screenshots from its upcoming organized crime game Mafia, which is in development at Illusion Softworks, the studio that created Hidden and Dangerous. Mafia is set in the 1930s, and it places players in the shoes of hit men, getaway drivers, enforcers, and a variety of other criminal positions. The game includes 20 unique missions involving a number of different tasks such as shootouts, car chases, and mob hits. These missions take the player through more than 12 square miles of a typical American city that features traffic, landmarks, and realistic landscapes. The detailed 3D environments include bars, hotel rooms, train stations, and airports.

As a member of the Mafia, the player has access to several weapons, including the Tommy gun, the pump-action shotgun, the Colt 1911, and the Smith & Wesson Model 27 Magnum. More than 60 vehicles are also available in the game, such as roadsters, delivery trucks, and the Ford Model T. In addition to the single-player missions, Mafia supports seven different multiplayer modes over an LAN or Internet connection.

Mafia is scheduled for release at the end of April.
