Crave Entertainment has released new character screens from Ultimate Fighting Championship: Throwdown for the Sony PlayStation 2. The game, which shares many of its features with the Xbox game UFC: Tapout, includes an extensive career mode. In this gameplay mode, players will be able to train their fighter and advance through preliminary fights all the way to the world championship bout. A create-a-fighter option is also available in the game. Here body types, faces, tattoos, and other physical features can be tweaked to create the ultimate UFC fighter.

"The UFC franchise has taken on a life of its own," said Holly Newman, executive vice president of Crave Entertainment. "With incredible gameplay and amazingly realistic graphics, the PlayStation 2 is able to propel the brand forward, making marked improvements in the game's core elements."

Ultimate Fighting Championship: Throwdown will be released in Q1 2002 for the PS2.
