New Look: Colony Wars Red Sun

Psygnosis stopped by the videogames.com office today, and we sat down with the latest installment in the Colony Wars series, Red Sun. Set to release in March of 2000, the game is looking real nice - stretching the limits of the aging PlayStation. It also features some sleek-looking CG sequences and a killer orchestrated soundtrack.

According to Psygnosis, the final version of the game will offer 50 multiple-objective missions through five solar systems. You'll be given a choice of eight ships, each with a selection from 32 fully upgradable weapons. Red Sun also features an improved AI - you'll come across gun turrets that react quickly and know how to defend themselves.

Colony Wars Red Sun is looks like it will impress fans, as it features many new additions, and the gameplay feels fresh. We'll be back with further updates - including a full-fledged hands-on preview - in the near future.
