Yesterday, Microsoft and developer 343 Industries shared more information about the version of Halo 5's Forge mode coming to PC. Today, the companies detailed the Halo PC app that's launching alongside Forge.

As 343 Industries explained in a blog post, the app will act as the hub of everything related to Halo on computers. This means that you'll download and launch the free PC version of Forge from the app, but it will also contain a variety of tutorials and videos for Forge beginners.

It'll also act as a curation and discovery tool for Forge creations on PC. As such, you can explore top community maps, game variants, and game videos directly within the app.

Finally, the Halo app will also act as a hub to launch PC Halo games from. You'll be able download Halo: Spartan Strike, Spartan Assault, and when they're released, Halo Wars: Definitive Edition and Halo Wars 2. Sadly, this doesn't include every Halo game playable on Windows--such as Halo 2 and Halo: Combat Evolved. Only 343 Industries-developed titles.

The Halo app and Halo 5: Forge launch on September 8 on Windows 10. You can read more about the PC version of Forge here.
