New God of War: Ascension DLC out now

Primordial Weapons expansion now available for purchase on PSN; gamers have spent 3.48 million hours in multiplayer since launch.

Sony today launched new downloadable content for God of War: Ascension called Primordial Weapons. The add-on content introduces the Armor of Typhon and the Mercenary Blade.

The content is available to purchase today, though a price for the DLC was not divulged.

The Primordial Weapons DLC follows last week's Armors of Anarchy and Blades of Darkness expansions.

In addition, free DLC armor--The Chimeran Armor--is now available on PSN. According to its description, the armor "bucks authority with both a viper's venom and a lion's pride."

Sony also released an infographic detailing player behavior in the God of War: Ascension multiplayer mode. According to the graphic, 240,861,493 players have been killed since the game launched in March, while gamers have spent a total of 3.48 million hours playing.

The God of War: Ascension player logging the most game time in multiplayer was KnightMareIV, who has played over 356 hours to date, which is equal to more than 14 days. The game has been out now for 63 days.

Now that I see all the companies doing complete editions with all dlc the year after a game releases. I just dont bother paying full price for a game anymore.

Meh, I really don't see the appeal for the multiplayer. I found it to be shallow and boring.

"According to the graphic, 240,861,493 players have been killed since the game launched in March"

So over 240 million players in multiplayer for a game that has sold just over 1 million and not to mention a console about 25 million short of 100 million? ROFL. Anyone else catch that?

How about fixing the damn sound and camera angle issues in single player first?

While I enjoyed the MP for a while (I planed on reaching level 3 for all weapons/armor) Theres seriously no fucking reason to pay for this cash grab.

As someone who has never played God of War, at all, I have to wonder if I'd enjoy it.  Or enjoy this Ascension multiplayer.  What is the multiplayer like in the game?

@karenwen 240 million players have been killed doesn't mean that there have been 240 million players logged in to play ROFL -_-

@karenwen That's not the number of players that have been online, but the number of times all players have been killed in multiplayer. Given most matches probably have 40 to 50 total deaths at least, that's not a weird number.   That stat is not talking about the number of players who have logged in.  It only covers the total number of deaths since the game launched.

@Ovirew I tried to like GoW and clearly it was insanely popular but it just never grabbed me the way it grabbed everyone else. To me as far as the action/slash genre nothing has lived up to Ninja Gaiden 1 on xbox. Not even NG2.

I liked the DMC series 2nd. I tried GoW when it came out and didn't care for it but people said I was missing out so I bought the HD remake of 1 and 2 and still gave up on it. Just not my cup of tea I guess.

@ShadowofSonic well, if they'd sell 1 million copies of the game, each would only have to play only 3.48 hours to reach that number.
