New Ghost Recon gets deployment date

Tom Clancy's "invisible" soldiers land in Mexico City in early March on Xbox and Xbox 360, weeks later on PS2 and PC.

Tom Clancy's Ghosts, made famous in the Ghost Recon series of games from Ubisoft, have had itchy trigger fingers since they knew they would be redeployed into battle. However, they were forced to keep their safeties on a little longer than expected as their release date was delayed from 2005 to 2006.

The soldiers' orders were finally detailed today, and they're set to keep the peace in Mexico City with staggered deployments next month. Ubisoft has announced that Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter will be released on March 9 for the Xbox and Xbox 360, and March 30 for the PC and PlayStation 2.

Ubisoft has also released a new trailer for the game set to a cover of Bob Dylan's "All Along the Watchtower." The footage shows the Ghosts gunning down rebels in Mexico City, along with helicopter combat and plenty of explosions.

Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon Advanced Warfare is rated T for Teen and will retail for $59.99 on the Xbox 360, and $49.99 for other versions. For more intel on the game, head over to GameSpot's previous coverage.

Glad that they didn't put the Bob Dylan original version in the trailer. Ya Bob wrote it, Jimi covered it, I enjoy Jimi's more but to make it clear it is not his song.

Ninjafoot...... I completely agree bro ..... that kid seems to be the type that will talk down games like GR and Rainbow Six 3 but then spending endless days and nights playing that horrible excuse for an Army Game Socom...... i love how ps2 fanboys think Socom is God's gift to the world but have never played Rainbow Six 3 or GR 2 (or even GR 1 for that matter) on Xbox .... all three are head and shoulders above Socom and its "awesome" online play......Drudaddy and mikekare79 your posts rock as well

I'll admit....this game looks really awesome and I'm gonna pick it up if it recieves good reviews, even though I hate playing on the side of the pigs in a game. But, on the contrary, isn't "All Along The Watchtower" an ANTI-war song? And Bob Dylan did the original, Hendrix made a superior cover.......both great though.

The PS2 sucks for shooters. Good thing I have a 360. This game is gonna rock. (BTW, the HDD for the PS2 was supposed to be soooo great. Someone tell me why I spent $100 on it.)

" IF its on the xbox and ps2, than wut does that say for the xbox 360? I think its says I'm not worth it" Yeah right. And the ps2 version of Ghost Recon 2 was as good as the xbox version too I bet! As was the ps2 version of Rainbow Six 3 LMAO....Fanboys are hilarious.

Agreed TimSpot. I believe I will start tracking your contributions to this fine community.

Excellent point Polybren. Likewise with JJ Cale... great songs that other people made famous, like Clapton's "Cocaine" and "After Midnight" and Skynard's "They Call Me the Breeze."

Hendrix did a mean cover of "Watchtower," but it was still a cover. Dylan wrote the original. I *strongly* encourage anyone who thought otherwise to check out Dylan's work. Start with Blood on the Tracks, Desire, Blonde on Blonde, or Bringing it All Back Home and go from there. You'll likely find a whole bunch of great songs you thought someone else wrote.

if you watch the trailer for the 360 and are still dissing this game for the 360, then you must have dial up. lol

What's with that crappy Jimi Hendrix remake? Why not just have the original, it doesn't make my ears bleed from pain... other wise, it looks ok, nothing spectacular, its GR...

Aggie1295

Do the people who write these things know anything?? Jimi Hendrix performed "All Along the Watchtower"!! He's that one that made the song famous.

anybody who say they are not getting or wanting this game for the 360 is straight lying, bottom line.

Yo Loco, I think it's you who needs a lesson in classic rock! Bob Dylan wrote and recorded "All Along the Watchtower." Jimi covered it a few years later.

I was lloking to buy this game for the GCN. However I think that I will buy it for the PS2. I want to see how they managed to recreate Mexico City. I've also played other Ghost Recon games and they are very fun to play; specially with some of your friends.
