New Game of Thrones Season Six Images Reveal the Three-Eyed Raven [SPOILERS]

The much-anticipated sixth season of Game of Thrones arrives next month. Among the actors joining the cast of the acclaimed fantasy show is veteran star Max Von Sydow, who was seen most recently in Star Wars: The Force Awakens. Sydow is playing the Three-Eyed Raven, and can be seen in a new batch of images from the new season. Check them out in the gallery below, via EW:

Game of Thrones is known for its willingness to kill off many of its characters, and there has been much speculation about whether the seemingly dead Jon Snow, played by Kit Harington, will be back for the new season. Earlier this month, new cast member Ian McShane hinted that he would responsible for at least one resurrection. "My character is really an ex-warrior who has become a peacenik," he told BBC Breakfast. "So I have this cult peaceful tribe... I bring back this much-loved character who everybody thinks is dead."

Conversely, Sophie Turner, who plays the still-alive Sansa Stark, recently revealed that she was in fact hoping to be killed off at some stage. "I don't want to survive and I want Littlefinger to end up on the throne," she told the Wall Street Journal.

“If you're on Game of Thrones and you don't have a cool death scene, then what's the point? I think it would be really disappointing if I got to the end and I was okay."

Game of Thrones returns to HBO on April 24.
