22Cans, the studio founded by Fable, Black & White, and Godus creator Peter Molyneux, has released a new game on iOS called "The Trail."

"The Trail will lead you to adventure and fortune," reads its description on the App Store. "Take in the view as you walk The Trail through different landscapes and fantastic vistas. Using only your thumb, swipe and drag to move delightfully along The Trail. Designed for everyone to pick up and enjoy."

The description also states players will be able to learn to craft and then trade items so they can "travel to the new world to make your fortune." There also seems to be a multiplayer element, as it is possible to "join a town to unlock more features and work together make your town the best in the new world."

The last game that 22Cans released was Godus Wars, which mixed real-time strategy with god game mechanics. It was available as a free update for those that had already purchased Godus and cost $15 for those that hadn't.

Godus was successfully funded on Kickstarter in 2012 and tied into the studio's previous title, Curiosity - What's Inside The Cube. Whoever could reach the centre of the cube would find a "life-changing" prize. This was later revealed to be a stake in the revenue generated by Godus as well as an in-game presence. The man that won the prize later said he had received nothing.

Recalling this, Molyneux said, "It was one of the most bruising moments of my life."

Since then Jack Attridge, referred to as Peter Molyneux's "protege" and co-creator of Godus, left 22Cans and founded his own independent studio.

"Goodbye 22Cans. Has been lovely. It's time to create something of my own. I can't wait to talk about my new venture," he said at the time.

Attridge has not yet revealed his new game.
