New Dragon Age II DLC out now

BioWare unleashes weapons, armor, and follower items for each of the game's classes; available now for PC, Xbox 360, and PS3...when PSN comes back online.

by

Gamers continuing their trek through Dragon Age II now have new content to purchase and equip to their Kirkwall warriors.

BioWare today released new Dragon Age II content in the form of weapon, armor, and follower items for the game's three classes: mage, warrior, and rogue. The content is available today for the PC and Xbox 360 versions of Dragon Age II.

Stabbing dragons in the neck never looked so good.

It was also announced for the PlayStation 3 iteration of the game, but gamers cannot download the content, as the PlayStation Network has been offline for over a week now.

For a detailed look at the new Dragon Age II digital offerings, check out the DLC page at the official Dragon Age II download page.

Gamers can grab all three packs (Mage, Warrior, Rogue) for $5 (400 MS points) or individually for $3 (240 MS points).

Just finsihed the stroy. 2. time playing in this one is a waste of time... DLC's are crap... Why EA doesn't do a survey for it's players about the satisfaction of this game? cause they know the answers.... after origins i was expecting a better job.

I'll pass on this latest DLC cash-grab for Bioware games post-EA acquisition.

the thing i don't like about this pack is that the different parts of your suit are available at different levels. i don't want to wait another 2 level to wear the boots! they look cool though...which is why i played the game for the fourth time. i understand that some people didn't like it at all. all i can say, is that i was satisfied. the combat is ok, imo, but the story and customisation don't feel complete. origins was an epic journey, were as this feels like a series of side quests for every tom dick and harry you meet. i'm waiting for some huge dlc that adds to the story.

this game wasnt that good to play it a second time around, i hard to force myself to play it through the first time, new lousy items isnt gonna make it any better bioware

I have a ps3, and although I was expecting something bigger... I do get tired of party members wearing the same old thing day in and day out. This is crap though... they should've just added this with the pre-order bonus. I used Fadeshear for my warrior because of how strong it becomes when you level up. But whatever, EA better pray that they bring in something to wait on.. like bringing in a dlc that shows the events leading up to the confrontation of the warden and champion(rumored).

sorry i can't play it again not like the first it was REALLY FUN :(

No thank you. I got enough content from Black Emporium and other things. My whole inventory is full with it.

I think I'll pass too guys...not wasting my money...I mean, why get this if you've already beat the game anyway? It should've already been included. 5 bucks is ridiculous! Previous DLC was what? Like 7 bucks and you had quests and everything with that.

Armor and weapons? Why not take another year to work on a game and get it near the depth that Origins had? Screw you EA, Origins fans need to stand up and give you all a big collective middle finger

Another useless DLC. Honestly I think these DLC's should be free to begin with I don't buy this garbage cause its garbage.

So, when the hell are they going to make up for the tiny sized game? I mean really, stuff packs are okay and all, but I want to see something that made up for 15 hours of the same repetition. I was hoping they would make up for the tiny game with great DLC, if all they keep releasing is tiny three quest dlc that lasts 6 minutes and item packs, then they may as well just give us the finger now.

@collinmul agreed! I also think that the ultimate edition for origins was the original game, i would pay $59.99 for the ultimate w/ all DLC included, and what do they lose form my delayed purchase....nothing! they still sell it at full price, its not any cheaper then when they released it without all the DLC. I do not think waiting is cheating them out of anything except their ability to rape my wallet when I'm not looking.

any dlc with new story will probably just have tthe same 3 rehashed rooms (mansion, cave, thaig) anyway so who cares?

I would of been more impressed if they had given out a free DLC pack of "items" in the form of customer service and appreciation. I don't mind paying for larger content to continue the story line, as they need money to pay the dev team. But just a handful of "items" is laughable. I am one of the dissapointed, as this game is so easy and dumb ed down my 8 year old could blast through it if it were age appropriate.

I do have positive things to say in that I loved the game--Origins. But I stand by what I say about the DLC. Paying $5-$8 for 10-20 mins of gameplay is a rip-off. Most of the DLC, I would just select all and attack one guy at a time. no strategy needed=no fun. I simply do not trust Bioware to produce quality DLC.

StJimmy15
StJimmy15

@velcroboy Good god, I've never seen such an assumed opinion in my life... Got anything positive to say? DA:O had some decent DLC with the exception of the last one. DAII started off weak with this armor DLC but the game is enjoyable on a more "mass effect 2"-y level.

velcroboy
velcroboy

The DLC in Origins was 100 percent rotten. Why would people by the crap for this game? DAII is a failure. Witcher II for the win.

CrouchingWeasel
CrouchingWeasel

Can't even understand why I didn't take DA II back to EB within 7 days let alone spending even more of my hard earned for this dumbed down steaming heap. I just hope BioWare don't dick up Mass Effect 3 as badly as they did DA II. Not going to hold my breath though. Is it just me or has BioWare become just another generic schlock factory since selling out to EA? At least Bethesda is coming along in November to rescue me from RPG hell.

This might be handy for someone just starting the game. However the in-game items were more then enough to get platinum, and kick some dragon butt.

If you doN,t complain for things you don't like or are Rip-offs, Ea will never changes.......

rjr1211
rjr1211

@everyone Stop complaining. If you dont want to get this or think it's a rip off then don't get it. Some people like and will buy little weapon packs like this it's not like it has any story impact or is required to get the most out of your game. Just dont compain about something that you dont even need to buy cause you dont have anything better to do.

True in terms of what Hawke actually said it was more clear, not a bad thing really, annoying to choose a line of conversation you think would result in a positive reaction from an npc only to have them go a bit nutty!! Haha Dylan didn't let people into his concerts for free nor give away his records. DA2 also just seemed a bit more polished not quite the same number of bugs and the presentation more slick. But hey thats just me, I really enjoyed it and kind of feel the level of criticism panned at the game at little extreme.

Ever since the internet has invaded consoles, gaming has gone down hill. I will never ever, ever pay for "DLC".

Theconsciousss

Not sure if I'll be getting this DLC, prefer more story based bits. In answer to some of the negative comments below, I wouldnt say the game is simplified everywhere, the tactics and battle engine are pretty much the same under the bonnet, number crunching hasnt changed for DAII. All in all I find this game quite refreshing from the old evil/returning sith/child of bhaal/lizard-like dudes from NWN/King of Shadows etc ; it plays out quite differently when you're pushing yourself to proceed and make your own enemies. this is also the first time I've really enjoyed playing a mage, admitedly rogue and warrior classes dont have the same buzz in DAII

Shanks_D_Chop
Shanks_D_Chop

@Sard66 Yeah, but Dylan didn't charge large amounts of money for people to find out how he'd changed.

chrisbrighton
chrisbrighton

Completely disagree with the comment below. The choices you had to make were not more blurred. You had a nice answer a comedic answer and an aggressive answer, that made it so simple, in DAO you had no way of telling what each line in a conversation would do so you simply went with what you thought. I found the game simplified in all areas. It didn't last as long and the tactics were also very basic compared to the original. I sailed through it on the hardest setting just by button bushing. I'm not saying the game was bad it just wasn't great either and I for one, will not be wasting my money on any DLC. I'll stick with the original

Sard66
Sard66

Man oh man, people need to chill out!!! So much negativity!!! The story really ain't that bad, DAO had a fairly run of the mill fantasy rpg story, a big bad monster threatens the world and a lone hero comes along and saves the day!! Nothing wrong with that its a bit of fun. DA2 however had a more complex story which was a little less straight forward but the choices you make between good and bad are a lot more blurred, and each act ties into each other quite nicely. What we have here essentially is a Bob Dylan moment when in '66 he change from folk to electric and a band and his die hard folk fans hated him for it!! DA2 is what electric was to Bob Dylan's career. Change ain't bad folks, its just different!!

DesertLynx83
DesertLynx83

@krelmmaster-EA happened to them. Hopefully it doesn't become a pattern. Even so, I didn't think it was that bad...please don't hurt me!

krelmmaster
krelmmaster

What's happening to BioWare? DA2 was clearly rushed out of the door with easily some of the lowest quality gaming from BioWare yet, and they seem to have gone crazy with DLC, cashing in left right and centre with mostly sub-par DLC that's not worth the price tag. I seriously hope DA2 was just a one-off mistake.

Shanks_D_Chop
Shanks_D_Chop

You would have at least hoped for a new area to explore, maybe a new side-quest or two? And I thought DAO DLC was a bit thin...

Wrangler044
Wrangler044

Since DA2 is a lesser game than DAO, and The Witcher has gone gold, I see no point in spending money on DA2 DLC, especially these rather lame choices.
