Strategy First has announced the release of a new playable demo for its railroad management strategy game, Rails Across America. The new 47MB demo reflects the most recent version of the game, and it lets players control a railroad empire between the years 1870 and 1885. It also supports up to four players in multiplayer mode.

Rails Across America gives players control of a railroad network, and they must manage their railroad and make strategic decisions to expand their empire. The full version of the game begins in the 1800s, and it spans the North American continent with hundreds of tracks and thousands of trains. Players focus on top-level management rather than the control of individual trains. In addition to straightforward business practices, they can use labor strikes, stock raids, and sabotage to undermine their competition.

Rails Across America was developed by Seattle-based Flying Lab Software and released in September. For more information, take a look at our full review of the game and download the 475742new playable demo .
