Two new images from Xbox One-exclusive action game, Crackdown 3, have been posted online, showing off in-game assets from the upcoming sequel.

The images were posted on the official Crackdown 3 forum. The first, which is some sort of energy-powered weapon, was attributed to senior art director Dave Johnson. The exact nature of the weapon was not disclosed.

The second was released as part of #FacialHairFriday, during which the developers encouraged fans to post an image of their favourite facial hair on a fictional character to win prizes. A picture of an unnamed character from Crackdown 3 sporting various beards was included. Take a look at both images below.

Little has been seen of Crackdown 3 since Gamescom 2015, when Microsoft and developer Reagent Games showed off how it is utilising cloud computing to power the game's physics model.

Crackdown 3 doesn't currently have a release date, but series creator Dave Jones narrowed it down to summer 2016. Microsoft later clarified that the entirety of Crackdown 3 won't be available during summer 2016, as Jones suggested. Instead, it's just multiplayer that will be playable in that window. It is unclear whether this will be through a beta test or a standalone multiplayer release prior to the launch of the campaign.

As previously detailed, the game features an all-new city and more customisation options than previous entries. Players will also be able to pick a female agent.
