As Halloween comes to a close this year, many will expect the frights associated with the holiday to rest for 364 days. Konami is thinking otherwise. After the fake blood has dried and the sugary snacks have been consumed, gamers will be able to take on all sorts of spooks in Castlevania: Curse of Darkness. Konami today revealed that the Xbox and PlayStation 2 game will be in stores on November 1.

Curse of Darkness is being created by director Koji Igarashi and his team, the same brains behind 2003's Castlevania Lament of Innocence. The latest game in the series features an all-new storyline and main character.

Set three years after the NES game Castlevania III: Dracula's Curse, Curse of Darkness follows Hector, a former minion of the fanged one. He's decided to give up the pale life of an evil vampire and is in search of a little vampiric vengeance for the murder of his girlfriend.

Hector will have several weapons to send dark enemies back to their graves for good, and he'll have the help of allies known as the Innocent Devils.

Castlevania: Curse of Darkness is rated M for Mature and will retail for $49.99. For more information on the game, check out GameSpot's previous coverage.
