"They're everywhere."

A teaser for the upcoming horror sequel Blair Witch was released earlier this week, and now, an extended trailer reveals that the film is set to be a seriously scary--and claustrophobic--experience. Check it out below:

Blair Witch is a sequel to The Blair Witch Project, the hugely influential found footage hit released in 1999. The movie focuses on a group of students who attempt to find out what happened to the characters of the first movie within the terrifying Black Hills Forest.

It is directed by Adam Wingard, who made the cult hits You're Next and The Guest, and will soon be helming the much-anticipated adaptation of anime favorite Death Note. The film was filmed under the title The Woods and was only revealed to be a Blair Witch sequel a few weeks ago.

In a recent interview with Indiewire, Wingard spoke about the secrecy surrounding the movie. "The Woods was our working title," he explained. "When we signed on to it, we knew that [the name] was eventually going to be changed. To us, it wasn’t even going to be part of the marketing. But I think Lionsgate made a really smart decision, using that."

An earlier sequel, Book of Shadows: Blair Witch 2, was released in 2000, but it was a box office flop. Blair Witch hits theaters on September 16th, 2016.
