Baywatch was one of the most popular TV shows of the 1990s and is set to return to screens this summer as a movie reboot starring Dwayne Johnson. A new trailer has been released--check it out below:

Baywatch is directed by Horrible Bosses' Seth Gordon and also stars Zac Efron, Alexandra Daddario, Kelly Rohrbach, Priyanka Chopra, and Ilfenesh Hadera, with a cameo expected from the show's original star and producer David Hasselhoff. In February, Johnson posted a picture of him and Hasselhoff on set together.

In a recent interview with EW, Gordon spoke about the way the new movie would reference the original show."The history of the show is to showcase beauty," he said. "There's a beat where one of the characters sees someone running and asks, 'Is she running in slo-mo? And why is she wet but not that wet?' Stuff like that shows that we are in on the joke."

The original Baywatch ran from 1989 to 1999, with a subsequent show, Baywatch Hawaii, airing until 2001. It was a huge international hit, and had clocked up a total of 242 episodes by the time it was cancelled.

Baywatch hits theaters on May 19, 2017. A first trailer was released in December--watch it here.
