Sony Pictures has released a new trailer for the upcoming Angry Birds movie. Some of the footage has been seen in past trailers, but other sections--that delve deeper into the birds vs. pigs storyline--are new. As with past trailers, this one explains why main character Red is so angry and teases out his unlikely journey to becoming the savior of his people in a battle against egg-stealing pigs. Check it out below.

If you were looking for more of the pee jokes and poop jokes from past trailers, you may be disappointed. But not to worry, as this video contains some silly lines to laugh at, including, "Drop your nuts and move your butts," among others.

Angry Birds follows a bird named Red (voiced by SNL vetern Jason Sudeikis), who has a temper problem. Along with other birds Chuck (Frozen's Josh Gad) and Bomb (Danny McBride from East Bound and Down), the three have been considered outsiders for their entire lives. But one day, their island paradise is invaded by green pigs, and of course, it's up to the three of them to save the world.

The Angry Birds movie is being written by veteran scribe Jon Vitti, who is perhaps best known for his work on The Simpsons. He wrote the famous "Mr. Plow" episode, among others.

It is produced by visual effects and animation studio Sony Pictures Imageworks, and will be distributed around the world by Sony Pictures. Animated movie veterans Fergal Reilly (Spider-Man 2, The Iron Giant) and Clay Kaytis (Wreck-It Ralph, Tangled) are directing the film, which is due out May 2016.
