Last month, Netflix announced that it had expanded its service to a total of 190 countries, and that it would more than double the amount of original shows and movies that it makes in 2016. The streaming giant has now revealed that it is producing a new anime series called Perfect Bones, which will launch simultaneously across the entire service.

Perfect Bones is being developed in conjunction with Japanese animation studio Production IG. The studio is known for producing such anime classics as Ghost in the Shell, Psycho-pass, and Attack on Titan, as well as the animated sections of Quentin Tarantino's Kill Bill.

The new 12-part show will be directed by Kazuto Nakazawa, and will be set in a future where scientists have tried to create the "perfect human." When these new humans are sent for training, they are kidnapped by an sinister organization set on using their powers for evil.

Mitsuhisa Ishikawa, president of Production IG, said in a statement: "Among all the TV series and films Netflix offers, the titles I personally find the most amazing are Netflix originals. Production IG is eager to present another impactful title brought through our creators' passion and imagination. We're very excited about Perfect Bones!"

A release date for Perfect Bones is yet to be announced.
