No Caption Provided During its 2010 Electronic Entertainment Expo presentation in June, Electronic Arts officially announced Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit. A "reimagining" of the '90s racing franchise for the "connected generation," the title won the favor of critics when it was released in November. Now, those thirsting for more white-knuckle racing action are a week and a half away from the game's first batch of downloadable content.

Due out on December 21 for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 is the "Super Sports" pack for Hot Pursuit. The content is priced at $7 (560 MS points) and adds fresh events and vehicles to the racing title. The content will arrive for the PS3 in Europe on Dec. 22. Release information for the PC or Wii versions of Hot Pursuit was not mentioned.

Specifically, the new content packs in 13 fresh race and pursuit events, as well as three new high-speed vehicles: the Porsche 911 GT2 RS, the Gumpert Apollo S, and the Bugatti Veyron 16.4 Super Sport. Each vehicle will be playable on both sides of the law, either as an enforcement vehicle or a racer.
