NDL, the producer of the widely used Gamebryo 3D engine, has merged with Emergent Game Technologies. Gamebryo is a multiplatform 3D graphics engine that's been licensed to a variety of development studios and publishers. Games that have used the engine include Sid Meier's Pirates! and Dark Age of Camelot. Before the merger, NDL had already begun licensing Gamebryo 2, which offers support for the Xbox 360 and eventually for the PlayStation 3. Emergent offers toolsets used to aid game development, such as automated testing and platforms for hosting online games. The combined company will operate under the name Emergent Game Technologies.
