EA Sports has today announced that the PlayStation 2, Xbox, and GameCube versions of NCAA Football 2004 have gone gold and are now being prepared for retail. The game boasts a number of new features, not the least of which is the introduction of online play for the PS2 version.

"NCAA Football 2004 kicks off this season with a lot of momentum," said EA vice president Chip Lange. "Last year, college fans pushed this franchise well over the million-unit mark--hundreds of thousands of copies more than the pro game of our next closest competitor. This year, we hope to repeat that victory with unique college gameplay and the ability to square off against your rivals online."

NCAA Football 2004 is currently scheduled for release on July 17. For more information, check out our previous coverage of the PlayStation 2, Xbox, and GameCube versions of the game.
