Koei announced today it will publish Naval Ops: Commander, the sequel to Micro Cabin's Naval Ops: Warship Gunner, in March. "We are pleased with the critical and commercial success of Naval Ops: Warship Gunner, and are proud to introduce a spin-off of the original," said Koei Vice-President of Sales & Marketing Amos Ip.

Like Warship Gunnger, Naval Ops: Commander will be set in an alternate future where fleets of superships vie for control of the oceans. The sequel will sport similar gameplay to the 2003 original, but will offer new features such as a new tactical battle group system that offers a combination of real-time action and strategy. The game also features over 200 different ships and aircraft, a performance-analysis system of user-designed ships, and an array of unique weapons and ship components.

Naval Ops: Commander is rated 'T' for Teen and is exclusive to the PlayStation 2.
