Naughty Dog hires Halo 4 programmer Corrinne Yu

Yu is moving from one of Microsoft's top developers to one of Sony's.

Corrinne Yu's LinkedIn profile indicates that she has moved from her position as Principal Engine Architect at Microsoft's Halo 4 developer, 343 Industries, to Uncharted developer Naughty Dog.

At this time we don't know what project she is working, but her position is listed as "Graphics Coding on PS4." However, during the launch event for Sony's new console Naughty Dog announced that it's currently developing Uncharted 4, a PlayStation 4 exclusive.

Yu has an extremely impressive résumé with a number of awards and notable credits to her name. Prior to her role at Microsoft she was the director of Technology at Gearbox where she worked on Borderlands. She is also a founding member of Microsoft's Direct 3D Advisory Board.

I watched the video interview linked to by Mausingen (thanks for that). Seemed to me she said all the right things. The move will hopefully work out well for Yu, them, and most importantly us.

Who cares if she's attractive or not, her job is programming, not modeling. I hope this goes well for Naughty Dog, I wasn't the biggest fan of uncharted, but I loved The Last of Us.

Everyone else has talked about the things I want to talk about in the comments actually related to her job, so I'm just going to point out that she's cute as balls.

Will she take the 'naughty' out of Dog or vise versa?

Sony promised her that her 1080 ideas for making games better would not go unnoticed..

Can Naughty Dog be more awesome than what they are?

She's not just a programmer. She was "principal engine architect" at 343 Industries. I would say this is a good acquisition for Naughty Dog.The future is looking good for all of us who love Uncharted.

@xtremeflem2day if you don't like attractive women than that's ok but apparently most of us clicked on this article because she was attractive

@fillup0 "Balls" typically are not what I'd describe as "cute," though maybe I've lived a sheltered life.

@MooncalfReviews I think the word you were looking for was misanthropic. But even then, you'd be wrong considering the context.

@MooncalfReviews Hey, if he is as high profile as Corrine Yu, he would. John Carmack joins Naughty Dog, all of gaming media will write about it.

@MjnE Lol she basically left because Microsoft were shit when they designed their console

@West123 @xtremeflem2day I'd like to dereference her apparel and initiate the fork() system call, hopefully without the burden of the child process though.

@MooncalfReviews Also - 'misanthopistic' isn't a word. A misanthrope is somebody who dislikes humans in general, regardless of their sex, so in context even 'misanthrope' wouldn't make much sense. I think you meant to say 'misandristic'. Sorry for being so, uh, pedantic.

@Mausingen

What, Halo? I doubt it. Programmers who worked on better games than Halo barely get a mention on this site, unless they are CEO, female, or they have something fanboyish to say.

@MooncalfReviews @MacaulayMcDerp There is literally an article on John Carmack leaving Id for Occulus like five articles down. And we are talking about the person behind arguably the best looking game on 360 moving to the company who made arguably the best looking game on PS3. When you worked on one of the greatest engines ever made and then go to work for the company who made one of the few engines even better that is news.

Mausingen
Mausingen

@MooncalfReviews @Mausingen Rubbish. Carmack was making news years before he founded his company and gained his title and status. People don't simply get slotted into positions of power and status.
