N-Gage launch imminent

The N-Gage mobile game deck will launch worldwide tomorrow, and Nokia has a number of special events planned in North America to mark the occasion. Selected retailers in New York, Los Angeles, and Chicago will be hosting "Midnight Madness" and "Dawn Madness" parties for customers eager to be among the first to get their hands on the new console, and the first 100 people to buy an N-Gage in each city will receive a free game pack containing five launch titles. Gamers will also be invited to compete with each other for prizes such as a trip to the Nokia Sugar Bowl in New Orleans, N-Gage consoles, and limited-edition Nokia snowboards.

"The wireless game revolution is here," said Nada Usina, general manager of entertainment and media for Nokia in the Americas region. "Hardcore and active gamers now have a way to compete head-to-head with other gamers wirelessly via Bluetooth wireless technology and over-the-air globally via N-Gage Arena."
