Mythic still focusing on Camelot

The developer's efforts are centered on its medieval online role-playing game as it begins development on Imperator, its upcoming sci-fi online game.

Mythic Entertainment has clarified that its development efforts are focused on Dark Age of Camelot, its medieval massively multiplayer online role-playing game, despite the Dark Age of Camelot: Shrouded Isles expansion pack. No additional staff members will be assigned to Imperator until after Shrouded Isles, which is scheduled for release near the end of 2002, has been released and is stable and complete.

The developer will also hire additional personnel in the future to either work on Imperator or replace Camelot staff members who are reassigned to Imperator. The company has not set a time limit for the development of Imperator, and it plans to spend more time in the preproduction design phase for Imperator than it has with any previous game.

Dark Age of Camelot was developed by Mythic and launched in North America in October. For more information, take a look at our full review of the game.
