Myst III holds the lead

Ubi Soft's adventure game retains the top spot on NPD's latest list of best-selling games.

Ubi Soft's Myst III: Exile took the top spot on NPD Intelect's list of best-selling games for the second week in a row, outselling other popular PC games like EA's Black & White and Sims series. Despite losing the top slot to Ubi Soft, Electronic Arts had a strong showing as usual, raking in the next four places. Second place went to The Sims: House Party, the latest expansion pack to EA's virtual life game The Sims, which took third place. Black & White, an innovative god game developed by Lionhead Studios and published by EA, took fourth place, followed by The Sims: Livin' Large expansion in fifth place.

Old favorites like Microsoft's Age of Empires II, Infogrames' RollerCoaster Tycoon, and Blizzard's Diablo II filled up sixth through eighth place, while the Myst III: Exile collector's edition came in at ninth. GodGames' island management strategy game Tropico fell to 10th place from sixth place the week before.
