Electronic Arts has today announced that development on the PS2 and Xbox versions of MVP Baseball 2003 has been completed and that the game will now ship on March 11--a week earlier than was scheduled.

MVP Baseball is a new franchise for EA Sports, although many members of the development team that have been working on the game were previously responsible for EA's Triple Play series of games. MVP Baseball 2003 is a completely new game, though, and it incorporates a number of features that haven't been seen in baseball games previously--for example, a pitching mechanism that works in a similar way to the swing meters in golf games.

The PS2 and Xbox versions of MVP Baseball 2003 are now scheduled for release on March 11, while the PC version won't ship until April. For more information, check out our previous coverage of the game using the links to the right.
