UK-based Jester Interactive has today announced that it will sponsor the first UK tour of Motley, an as-yet-unsigned hip-hop artist who creates all of his tracks using Jester's Music Generator programs on the PlayStation.

"I've been using Music 2000 since it hit the street at the end of 1999," said Motley, who is currently touring with the Stereo MCs. "I haven't found any software like it and still use it as a writing tool. I can't wait to get a copy of Music Generator 3, to check out the cool new developments that have been implemented."

"This was the goal of the dev guys when they started writing the music products--getting someone using the game to create tracks and secure a record contract," said Martin Kitney, PR and marketing manager at Jester. "Motley is an inspiration to anyone out there trying to get into the music industry. He has proved that for 40 pounds you can have your own recording studio via our software. We were only too happy to help him out with his tour and wish him all the best for a bright future."

Music Generator 3 is currently scheduled for release in April, and it will allow users to incorporate samples from microphones, musical instruments, and even their own music collections into their tracks via a USB sampler. Users will also be able to customize videos to accompany their music. For more information on Music Generator 3, check out our previous coverage of the program.
