Currently in development at Mix Max, MTV Music Generator 3: This Is the Remix is a music generation program that will purportedly let you create professional-sounding tracks in minutes. As the title suggests, you won't be limited to playing around with libraries of riffs, beats, vocals, and the like that have been created by the developers. This time around you will also be able to incorporate samples from tracks by famous recording artists.

Included with MTV Music Generator 3: This Is the Remix will be a number of licensed tracks from artists such as OutKast, Snoop Dogg, Sean Paul, The Ones, Fabolous, and Carl Cox. For the first time, you'll also be able to take samples directly from your own CD collection and work them into your 24-track, 512-bar, up-to-15-minute-long mixes.

An in-game tutorial promises to familiarize you with all of the controls and techniques needed to create your own musical masterpiece and will also offer an introduction to the program's new remixer and studio modes. Using these new modes, you'll be able to instantly give your track a completely different sound on the fly, just by pressing buttons on your joypad while you listen to it.

According to Codemasters, MTV Music Generator 3: This Is the Remix will feature a completely new look and a more intuitive interface. The program will also boast a new video generation tool that's capable of automatically creating visual effects that complement your creations.

MTV Music Generator 3: This Is the Remix is currently scheduled for release on both the PlayStation 2 and Xbox in June. We'll bring you more information on the program as soon as it becomes available.
