Management moves at MicroProse see the appointment of a new CFO and corporate controller.

John Belchers has been appointed to the post of chief financial officer and Andrew Nimitz has been named vice president and corporate controller at the company, MicroProse announced today.

John Belchers, 54, comes to MicroProse from Discovery Toys, where he served as chief operating officer and where he negotiated the acquisition of Discovery Toys by Avon Products. MicroProse touts Belchers' "more than 20 years financial experience in retail, manufacturing, and service industries both domestically and internationally."

Belchers is taking the place of Tom Krause, who has served as a financial consultant to MicroProse for the past two years and is leaving to pursue his own financial consulting business.

Andrew Nimitz, 41, is coming to MicroProse following three years at Sony Computer Entertainment America Inc., where he served as controller and helped in the launch of the PlayStation console. He has also worked in finance positions at Industrial Light and Magic and Hollywood Records.
