Motor City Online changes

Electronic Arts has today released details of the latest improvements it has made to Motor City Online, which was first released a little over a year ago. The game has been improving gradually over the last 12 months, through the addition of new features and vehicle parts, bug fixes, and the like, but the latest update is perhaps the most significant to date.

For starters, a brand-new 4.6-mile street track called Industrial Flats has been introduced. There are also three brand-new trucks available in the game: the 1953 Chevrolet Model 3100, the 1955 Chevrolet Cameo Carrier, and the 1956 Ford F-100. Two new import cars--the 1996 Toyota Supra and the 1997 Mitsubishi Eclipse--have also been added, although these will only be available to race in the game's "sponsored" mode. Players will also notice that a new sports car class is now available. In the future, this mode will allow specialty cars such as the 1966 Shelby Cobra to be made available for purchase.

Of course, a major feature of Motor City Online is the ability for players to customize their vehicles, and there have also been a few improvements made to this area of the game. Anyone owning a 1949 Mercury Coupe, 1957 Ford Ranchero, 1969 Oldsmobile 4-4-2, or 1970 Ford Mustang will now be able to choose from 24 brand-new player-created paint schemes. New Buick BB, Buick SB, Oldsmobile SB, and Hemi engine parts are also now available.
