A custom control pad for the Xbox One and PlayStation 4 versions of Mortal Kombat X has been spotted at a retail expo in California.

The controllers feature an arrangement of six face buttons and an enlarged analogue stick, and has removed various furniture from the official Xbox One and PS4 controllers, such as the D-Pads.

Alex Jebailey, community manager for Iron Galaxy Studios, published the first image of the controller during his visit to the GameStop EXPO, which took place last week in Anaheim, California.

Publisher Warner Bros has not officially announced the controllers, and Jebailey wrote on his Instagram feed that the designs were "pending approval." GameSpot has contacted Warner Bros for further clarification.

The Mortal Kombat X release date is due for April 14, 2015. The game will ship on Xbox 360, Xbox One, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, and PC. It is unclear if the official pads will be released for systems other than the two pictured.

NetherRealm's next edition in the series will allow players to choose from multiple variations of each fighter, which impacts what strategies can be used.
