Electronic Arts has shipped all six of its PlayStation 2 launch games to retailers. Madden NFL 2001, NHL 2001, SSX, Kessen, X-Squad, and Swing Away Golf are through the manufacturing line and are en route to retailers. The company will have four to six additional PS2 games on store shelves by the holiday season. By March 2001, the company will ship NBA Live 2001, Tiger Woods PGA Tour 2001, FIFA 2001 Major League Soccer, Triple Play 2002, Nascar 2001, Knockout Kings 2001, F1 Championship Season 2000, and Theme Park Roller Coaster for the PlayStation 2.

"It's the software that will define the success of the PlayStation 2," said Don Mattrick, president of EA Worldwide Studios. "Madden football and SSX snowboarding are the games that will show consumers what the PlayStation 2 can do. Our studios have been working for over a year to ensure that consumers have the very best software when they buy a PlayStation 2. This is the strongest launch in EA's history - no other developer has this many AAA titles ready for the PlayStation 2."
