More Borderlands 2 DLC out November 26

"The Horrible Hunger of the Ravenous Wattle Gobbler" arriving next week on Xbox 360, PS3, and PC for $3.

More Borderlands 2 DLC will be available in time for Thanksgiving, 2K Games announced today. "The Horrible Hunger of the Ravenous Wattle Gobbler," the second Headhunter expansion for the game, will be available November 26 on Xbox 360, PlayStation, Steam, and Mac for $3/£2.39/€2,99

In the DLC, players will participate in a hunger-themed competition hosted by Mr. Torgue where they are challenged to hunt down a giant turkey, the Wattle Gobbler, pictured above.

Players will also meet Mr. Torgue's grandmother, Grandma Flexington, in the content for the first time. "Grandma Flexington reminds us that we should be nice to Grandma during the holidays, even if she rambles on for way too long," 2K Games said.

Additionally, new character heads and skins will also be available as part of The Horrible Hunger of the Ravenous Wattle Gobbler. Lastly, 2K Games announced today that the third Headhunter add-on, called How Marcus Saved Mercenary Day, will be released in December.

The first Headhunter expansion, the Halloween-themed TK Baha's Bloody Harvest, was released in October.

Borderlands 2, released in September 2012, is the most recent entry in the shooter series. It has shipped over 7.5 million copies to date and is on pace to become 2K's best-selling game of all time.

More BL2 DLC, hmmm...

PLEA TO GEARBOX:

I know a lot of people bought this game - and I'm glad that you're getting the acclaim and financial gain you should have received with BL1; but please let's move on to BL3. And when you do so - let's refocus on the stellar level design, fun enemy encounters, and player progression/powerups that made the first title stellar. It's great you added a more plausible story and all, but if I want so much focus put in a story over everything else, I'll get a book.

BL1 was so superb - this follow up was so bland.  Let's not fall into CoD territory and stick with bland because it fattens the pockets.  Let's go back in the studios, and do what we know Gearbox can do best - make good games. Make my next holiday season a cheerful one, and do me this one favor...Gearbox...Santa whoever the f----! PLEASE?!?

Sincerely (tentative) Borderlands fan

P.S. Let's not have a good portion of the follow-up begin in some sh---y arctic setting.  That wood be a good start...

I hope an updated GOTY edition gets put out on PS4 or X1, at this point I've already made the leap into next gen.

Sucks if you bought the so-called "GOTY Edition", I mean sheesh I think this game might have even eclipsed Dungeon Defenders for "most nickel & dime DLC milking". Although the crown still belongs to Train Simulator 2012/13/14

I was looking for an answer more then 2 months, can someone acctualy tell me how to buy all BL2 DLCs all together for some reaseonable price? And btw BL2 have a way too much dlc's if you ask me.

I wonder how many people that are putting this down actually tried TK's Bloody Harvest? These little Headhunter DLCs are a terrific value... $3 for a few hours of fun, plenty of hidden stuff, and a couple repeatable mini-bosses.

Yeah, yeah, GOTY... but the notion that it means "everything" was blown apart years ago. Repackaging is part of the industry - like it or not. In the end though, shouldn't you be making a purchase based on whether or not you like the content/vs $? Why get bent out of shape when more content is released? Buy it or don't.

Me? I'll be shooting Wattle Gobblers for Thanksgiving.

Anything with the name Wattle Gobbler in it will not be gracing my PC.

Seriously speaking though, I got completely burnt out on BL2 and haven't even looked at or considered more DLC for it.

I'm always for DLC that adds to your experience on your favorite title, but the GOTY edition should be on hold until all content is released. This content should of been released the 12th or maybe the 19th but the 26th is probably the worst timing for this month. Borderlands is in my top 5 franchise and the game is still fun to play. Would have to be the best game per value with the amount of time I've spent. The only dislike I see with these DLC are the boss battles, they are not well design nor should they be called a boss battle. It's more of an Easter Egg DLC that relates the the holiday season and takes about 15-25mintues to complete(on True Vault hunter mode). I was interested in tough boss battles as it was marketed or discussed at the Community Day event. The Loot drops(RPG style), Character build (RPG style) and the invincible boss battles are what's best about this game, DLC doesn't add to any of these three :o(

Seriously what's the point of releasing a GOTY if you're going to release more shit

@themc_7 I was thinking the same thing when I read the title of the article.

@sladakrobot Exactly why I am torn...buy Borderlands 2 GOTY and not get all the DLC...or wait and see if there is gonna some sort of Borderlands 2 Ultra Mega Awesome GOTY edition lol

@halBU

I guess it bugs me because I don't want to be bothered with having to decide on 30+ download contents.  Just release 2 or 3 expansion packs that include everything.  Buying download content has become like shopping for cloths.

   Yeah I though the Tiny Tina expansion was a perfect way to end my time with BL 2. I had a blast but I'm officially done with the game.

@Riddick123 I absolutely love the game, but can only play for about an hour at a time. As soon as u finish a mission they give u another one and i'm like dang let me rest but they make it seem so important that it must be done now. lol

@Gosha14

As much as I like more content it seems a bad idea to keep milking the same game.  Maybe they will release a legendary edition with even more content a year later.  ;\

@unreal101 @sladakrobot That'd be just like borderlands to make that joke. "Call in the next 10 minutes and we'll double your DLC! That's right, We'll double it!"

@Valkyrslayer @DarkSaber2k "Reasonably priced" timesed by "shitloads" is still a lot of money though.

@crognalsen @halBU I don't disagree from the standpoint of convenience. I'm quite the same way. Some games do get a little crazy with DLC, particularly when some of it overlaps with other DLC. It becomes very confusing.

What I don't get, however, are people clinging to the notion that GOTY means that no other content will be released. That idea died years agp.

naryanrobinson

@DarkSaber2k lol so much denial.

Since your English is sub-dismal, lets try maths.

Milking = making money.

Most milking = making most money.

Flap your fingers some more if it makes you feel good, I'm bored of you now, it won't get read.

You're put in your place kid.  Have a nice day ;)

DarkSaber2k
DarkSaber2k

@naryanrobinson @DarkSaber2k Not really, no.
 Notice how I didn't say "milking the most" I said "most DLC milking", but sure, I'm the one who need to english lesson champ. Try Harder.

naryanrobinson
naryanrobinson

@DarkSaber2k Hate to break it to you kid, but "DLC milking" means making more money from your DLCs, "milking the most" means making the most money.

Looks like you need to brush up on your English skills junior.

DarkSaber2k
DarkSaber2k

@naryanrobinson @DarkSaber2k Nickel & Dime = low priced DLC. The word you appear to need to learn is "most", particularly as it applies to amounts of a thing.

DarkSaber2k
DarkSaber2k

@naryanrobinson @DarkSaber2k"I think this game might have even eclipsed Dungeon Defenders for "most nickel & dime DLC milking" Right there. Try harder.
 And don;t even think about trying to tell me what *I* meant.

DarkSaber2k

I was talking about AMOUNT of DLC, not the costs of each DLC you colossal failure.

@halBU @crognalsen

More to the point these content downloads wouldn't exist if it wasn't for the success of previous DLC releases… its a simple matter of one funding the next. Releasing it all after a year as an expansion would have been financial suicide.
