While Capcom's PlayStation 2 online action role-playing game Monster Hunter 2 hasn't even come out in Japan yet, its developers are already thinking about the next installment. Capcom held a ceremony in Tokyo yesterday to celebrate the completion of Monster Hunter 2. At the event, series producer Tsuyoshi Tanaka told the assembled press that his next Monster Hunter title may come out on a next-generation console, although he hasn't decided on a platform. Tanaka also said he would like to make another Monster Hunter game for the PSP before moving the series to next-gen platforms. The first PSP game in the series, Monster Hunter Portable (to be released as Monster Hunter Freedom in the US), has been one of the company's major hits on the system, shipping more than 400,000 units in Japan since its debut on December 10.

What Bitter Disappointment not bringing Monster Hunter 3 out for the PS3. Saying that it's too expensive to make for the PS3. Thats Soooo Lame and a Verrrry POOR EXCUSE Crapcom. But it's not TOO EXPENSIVE to put DMC4 out for the PS3 or Resident Evil 5. Or any of the other games that you have slated for the PS3. I was a Fan of the original Monster Hunter for the PS2. I had other 5700+ hours on it, in the 2 years that I had it online. Crapcom RIPPED us off when they put out Monster Hunter 2 ( Monster Hunter G for the PS2 ) only in Japan...Hello Crapcom... there are other Monster Hunter Game players in other parts of the World too you know. I was and am still chokes about that decision, then when I heard that Monster Hunter 3 was coming to the PS3....I thought OH JOY... They are trying to redeem themselves knowing that they RIPPED us off, when they put out the 2nd one in the series, but not for the North American People, but for Japanese Players ONLY. Hmmmm it sounds to me more like they are getting PREJUDICE against People in other parts of the World. Then to put the Icing on the Cake, they once again come up with ANOTHER BRILLIANT DECISION, and DECIDED not to put it out for the PS3. I think it would have been nice for them to put it out for all 3 Next Gen Consoles. Each with thier own different Version too. With an Online Mode as well as an Offline mode too....Just like the First one for the PS2. But it would have been nice if some more offline quests would have been put in to the Game to keep it interesting to play more often offline. Then The FINAL NAIL IN THE COFFIN.....Was when they took The First Monster Hunter for the PS2 offline, when there was still so many people playing it online. Thanks Crapcom for all the People that you crapped on.... I know for myself that I will never buy another Crapcom Game again. I'm tired of bein crapped on by a BUNCH OF NO-BODIES..... Who ONLY THINK of FILLING THIER OWN COFFERS and Lining thier OWN Pockets with other peoples GOLD. I HOPE CRAPCOM GOES BANKRUPT....REALLY I DO. So I CAN LAUGH at them and say "HOW DOES IT FEEL" HA, HA, HA, HAAAAA
Monster hunter freedom is amazing I have full red fatalis and dragon s it will be reely good if this came to the 360 and PS3 it just wouldn't work for wii because of the graphics cough..
One of the best game i have played is MHF.Surely looking forward for a PS3 monster Hunter as well as MH 2nd on the PSP.As for MH2 on the PS2 sadly i have not seen even MH or MHG here so i doubt i will be seeing it any time soon.Hopefully i'll get the Japanese version but my translator is long gone!
I'm very excited to see the new releases of this game. I am currently playing MHF, with about 185 hours on my only character. Many seem to not like this game, which I can understand. Not every game is going to attract everyone. Before you jump to conclusions because of people that can't even speak proper with a spell check, I suggest giving these games a chance. The fact that PS3 has internet capabilities really makes this game stand out. The fun part is getting together with others to take down the big things, which by my guess 3/4 of the negative posts have come nowhere close to.
I don't care what anybody else says there actually is a large following of the monster hunter series and I plan on getting MH2 even if I have to import it!
this series is FTW, i want to buy the MH2 for Ps2 but at the moment i dont have a PS2 (idiotically sold PS2 for Fable, only for Xbox to die 2 months after) im hoping that MH2 will be out by the time PS3 comes around, that way i can buy both Next Gen MH, and MH2, all to go along with the PSP version that RULES^^ Cant believe GS gave the PSP version a 6.5.... they dont know that they are doing, and it CAN be online via XlinkKai ^^ This should be awesome... i cannot wait ^^^ *starts saving more and more money for PS3*
THIS American is excited about Monster Hunter 2 and next-gen, and I think 360 and PS3 versions compatible online would be AWESOME.
Monster Hunter Rule's thats 4 sure. And PS3 games would be sick, it be almost real life monster hunting. Long Live The Hunters
Monster hunter was a GREAT show....i was wondering if they would make a game to it..that would be freakin awesome!!!
They might put it on 360, because it's mostly about the online in mosnter hunter, and the 360"supposedly" will have a better online system.
The concept of Monster Hunter had such awesome potential but the gameplay fell short in my opinion. I was expecting to gain skills and abilties as you play and continually grow stronger and fight bigger and badder dinosaurs with the intent of trying to get stronger and better equipment. Instead it is a boring game of making specific armor and weapons that have no varience. If one guy has Sword A, its the exact same sword as anyone else who has Sword A. They should take a look at Nippon Ichi Software games for equipment growth, and something like God of war/Devil may cry/Dynasty Warriors for actual combat. And one more final point. I dont know about you but if i was killing dinosaurs and stuff i sure as heck would want to put trophies up around my house. You should be able to make things out of monster parts and decorate your house with them.
This game sucked so bad and I personally think capcom can do no wrong, with this being the exception.
put it on both PS3 and Xbox 360 let them play together like people will get to do and have been doing with Final Fantasy 11.
I'm a huge fan of the series and I think the next installments COULD be worthwild if they capatilize!
Cool, MH next-gen should be awesome. No doubt, it'll probably be on PS3, I mean, the series is Sony exclusive, and I don't see why Capcom wouldn't stay that way with it, especially since it's a huge hit in Japan, and not too many Japanese like Xbox 360.
cant say i expect to see the same excitement here i mean i hadnt even heard of this game until i read this article these people need to get out there to draw attention
