Modder Gets Doom and Wolfenstein 3D Running Within Doom

Inception jokes, inbound.

There's apparently a community out there whose goal is to make Doom run on every platform imaginable, and now one fan has made Doom playable within itself.

That's right, there's a mod that lets you walk up to an in-game computer and play Doom, while playing Doom. YouTube user TheZombieKiller posted the video showing off the mod, which runs in the GZDoom port of the game using what appears to be an arcade machine mod.

The user also posted a video showing Wolfenstein 3D running within Doom.

This is just the latest in a series of increasingly strange ports of the 1993 game. Last year, a group of Australian hackers made Doom playable via ATM. Some modders later decided to get the game running on an Inkjet printer.

I'm sure it's only a matter of time before someone gets the game running on a refrigerator or inside of a different classic game. For those who want a more traditional experience, a Doom reboot is coming sometime next year for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
